Denim Fabric
A little history about the world’s most popular fabric:
Denim, was invented in Nimes, a city in France. But in 1873 in the United States, a tailor named Jacob W Davis and a businessman named Levi Strauss made it popular for the industrial use by making the pants and which were used by workers who used to work in the gold mines. In the 1930, it gained popularity in the fashion and regular clothing.
The original Indigo Denim fabric was produced by dyeing the warp yarn in the indigo colour and weft as natural colour. Those indigo dyes were originated from the plant Indigofera Tinctoria. These days, most factories use the synthetic indigo dyes.
Manufacturers of Denim Fabrics in India are gradually adopting sustainable practices to reduce the pollution and using latest dyeing techniques to reduce the water consumption. Some of our suppliers of denim fabrics have got Green Denim certification owing to all the practices to create sustainable denim using the recycled and organic yarns.
